HIFICRITIC – Audio Excellence Award
The Terminator Plus is a thoughtful, well-executed and knowingly-voiced piece of audio technology; evidence that we should take their engineering skills and sensitivity to audio quality very seriously.

Yes, it is an overachiever
A month spent with Denafrips Terminator Plus was enough to understand that we’d see several times as much on its tag if it were dressed fancier somewhere in Europe with according logo on its forehead or bonnet. Yes, it is an overachiever this massive, but Chinese origin and price to sell don’t make it any less real. If I were after a DAC now, I would look no further considering what this one does.

If you want the best, this could be it
As you can guess I was impressed by this DAC. For me, it makes a big statement in having all the right audiophile components, measures superbly well and has a sound quality that makes it exceptional with great detail and superb naturalness. At the price……er…..a bit of a bargain. If you want the best, this could be it.

Denafrips has hit one out of the park
It’s now clear how they’ve built a loyal following in less than a decade. After many weeks of very enjoyable listening sessions, the Terminator-Plus proved a distinct step up in sound quality from my Bryston BDA-2 DAC in every regard.

HFA Award Highly Recommended
This DAC is simply without flaws. It sets the standard not only at its retail price but it’s one of the finest DACs that I have heard irrespective of the cost.

The effect is very interesting and simply addictive
Terminator Plus by Denafrips sounds as if its creators wanted “analog” sound in the LP release (let me remind you that the “master” tape sounds quite different than most vinyls). A truly high-end converter for little money, which is why it receives the RED Fingerprint award from us.

6moons Audio Review
The Terminator-Plus does more than just revisit a power supply with ultra capacitors for better-than-battery performance. It does more than just revisit the layout of the signal path to further lower noise. It upgrades its clocks then adds outputs for them to control the clocks of upstream gear. That’s its biggest advance!

The Next Best Thing Studio
This is the long waited review of the Denafrips Terminator and Denafrips Terminator Plus DAC. These are regarded as one of the best R2R DACs for the money and I am glad they are able to offer such serious audiophile DACs for not so serious audiophile price tag.

The transparency is shockingly good
The first time my wife listened to music over the Terminator-Plus, she immediately noticed things in the arrangement she hadn’t heard before. She has no interest in equipment and even less in technology. She just loves music. That’s what the Terminator-Plus does; it opens up any recording so much more than anything I have heard in my setup #1.
